The 4th European Athletics Championships were held until August 27, 1950 Heysel Stadium in Brussels on 23. The undisputed star of the event was the Dutch - Koen Fanny blanker; she won three gold medals (100 m, 200 m, 80 m hurdles ) and a silver medal (4 x 100 m relay ).
