1950 UCI Road World Championships

The UCI Road World Championships 1950 took place in the Belgian Moorslede on 19 and 20 August.

Racing

For amateurs and professionals an 87 kilometer loop was provided that led to the Ardennes. You joined an eleven -kilometer circuit. The amateurs had to complete 175 km. They sailed the loop once and the round course eight times. The circuit of professional drivers was 284 kilometers. They had to cope with the loop twice and drove through the round course eleven times.

In the amateurs won with the 23- year-old Australian Jack Hoobin for the first time a non-Europeans. The Seventh Olympics of 1948 needed to win a average speed of 38.9 km / h

The 30 -year-old world champion from 1948 Alberic Schotte of Belgium was also in 1950 world champions of professional drivers. He graduated from the World Championship course at 36.3 km / h and went on to the final round course to the finish line a lead of one minute ahead of the Dutch Theofiel Middelkamp out.
