1952–53 Oberliga (ice hockey) season
The season 1952/53, the ice hockey league was the fifth season of the highest German Hockey League. German champion EV Fussen, who was thus able to win his second title. Were relegated from the League of EV Rosenheim, which was replaced by the SC Weßling, the winner of the promotion round. The Penultimate Düsseldorf EC, however, won the play-offs against the runner-up the promotion round, the LTCC Rot-Weiß Berlin.

Mode
Unlike last year, the German champion was again played in a single round so that each club each played one home and one away match against the other teams. The last placed rose at the end of the season off right out of the league and was replaced by the First the promotion round, during the penultimate of the league had to defend in the relegation against the runner-up the promotion round his starting place in the top division.
