1953–54 Czechoslovak Extraliga season

The season 1953/54, the first league was the eleventh regular hosting of the highest Hockey Class of Czechoslovakia. With nine points in the final tournament, the Final ZSJ Spartak Praha Sokolovo prevailed. For the capital city, it was her second Czechoslovak championship.

Mode

In contrast to the previous season, the number of participants of the three main round groups of seven teams was reduced to six. Due to the implementation of the outgoing and return within the groups thus the total number of matches per team was 10 games in the main round. The top two teams from each group qualified for the final Final tournament held in a simple round and the winner champion. The discharged in the previous Tournament for places 7-12 accounted for. Since the next season should be discharged with a main round in two groups of eight teams, rose from the two last.

Best scorer of the league was player-coach Vladimír Zábrodský of Master ZSJ Spartak Sokolovo Prague, who scored 30 goals in the 15 games of his team.
