1954–55 AHL season

The season 1954/55 was the 19th regular season of the American Hockey League ( AHL ). During the regular season, six teams played 64 games each. The four best teams in the AHL then played in a play-off round to the Calder Cup.

Team changes

The following changes were made before the start of the season:

  • The Syracuse Warriors returned to West Springfield, Massachusetts and played back were again under its original name Springfield Indians

Calder Cup Playoffs

For the play-offs, the four best teams in the American Hockey League qualified. In semi-finals and finals played this from the Calder Cup winner. The semi-final was played in best- of-five mode, while the finale in the best- of-seven mode took place.
