1954–55 Czechoslovak Extraliga season

The season 1954/55 the first league was the twelfth regular hosting of the highest Hockey Class of Czechoslovakia. With five points in the final tournament, Final Rudá Hvězda Brno prevailed. For the team it was their first Czechoslovakian league title at all.

Mode

In contrast to the previous season the main round was played in two groups of eight teams. Due to the implementation of the outgoing and return within the groups thus the total number of matches per team was 14 games in the main round. The top two teams from each group qualified for the final Final tournament held in a simple round and the winner champion. The two bottom-placed dismounted and were replaced by the top two of the promotion round of the 2nd league.

Best scorer of the league was Miroslav Kluc of BANIK Chomutov, who scored 25 goals in 17 games of his team.

The winners of the six second league groups played in home and away leg for admission to the first league for the following season. Here, the two highest point totals BANIK Kladno and Slovan Bratislava set by with 16 or 14 points.
