1954–55 Nationalliga A season

The season 1954/55 was the 17th regular hosting of the National League A, the top Swiss league in hockey. For the fifth time in their history, the EHC Arosa was Swiss champion, while the EHC St. Moritz descent into NLB.

Mode

Like last year, the league was held in a common main round. Each of the eight teams played in home and away leg against each group opponent, bringing the total number of matches per team was 14. The first table was swiss champion, during the last table had to compete for the league against the best second division side in the relegation. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw one point. At a loss to give any points.

The previous year's Movers EHC St. Moritz, who had no chance in the main round and all of its 14 games lost while having a goal difference of -108, met the best second division HC La Chaux- de-Fonds and subject to that much with 1:10, which the EHC St. Moritz descent into NLB and the HC La Chaux -de-Fonds took its place in the NLA.
