1954 Series (banknotes)

Devil 's face notes or Devil's head notes ( in German language, mutatis mutandis: Banknotes with devil's face or bank notes with devil head) proposed certain bills of the Bank of Canada.

The certificates of the values 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and $ 1,000 from 1954 show a picture of Queen Elizabeth II Shortly after the bills were published, it was discovered that part of the structure of the hair Queen of a devil's face resembled. This meant that the printing plates were promptly corrected, so the Devil 's face notes are rarer than the later retouched issued certificates.
