The 68th edition of the Wimbledon Championships took place in 1954 on the grounds of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Church Road instead.

This year, special boxes were set up in which spectators are not required, nor could leave valid tickets. These were then sold for a shilling. This system exists to this day, the tickets are usually donated to charitable organizations.

Men's Singles

In the final, the 33 -year-old Jaroslav Drobný struck the only 19 -year-old Ken Rosewall in four sets. Rosewall won all the Grand Slam tournaments up to the tournament of Wimbledon, although he still stood there in 1974 for the last time at the age of 39 years in the final.

Women's Singles

In the women's Maureen Connolly won for the third time in a row. However, two weeks after her victory Connolly suffered a serious riding accident, of her tennis career put an abrupt end.

Men's doubles

In the men's doubles were with Rex Hartwig and Mervyn Rose again two Australians successfully.

Women Doubles

In the women's doubles Louise Brough and Margaret Osborne duPont - won. The two had already been able to 1947-1950 secure the title at Wimbledon.

Mixed

In mixed Doris Hart and Vic Seixas defended their title last year.
