1955–56 IHL season
The 1955/56 season was the eleventh regular season of the International Hockey League. During the regular season, six teams denied each of 60 games. In the play-offs, the Cincinnati Mohawks prevailed and won the fourth Turner Cup in their history.

Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Johnstown Jets were transferred to the Eastern Hockey League.
- The Toledo Mercury changed their name to Toledo - Marion Mercurys.
- The Indianapolis Chiefs were added as an expansion team in the league.
