1955–56 NHL season
The NHL 1955/56 season was the 39th season in the National Hockey League. Six teams each played 70 games. The Stanley Cup won by the Canadiens after a 4-1 victory in the final series against the Detroit Red Wings. Before the playoff game between Detroit and Toronto were received death threats against Gordie Howe and Ted Lindsay at a newspaper. Both dared to play. Howe once met, Lindsay scored twice, while the winning goal in overtime.
