1955 South American Championship
The Campeonato Sudamericano 1955 was the 23 playout of the South American continental championship in football and was held from February 27 to March 30 for the fifth time in Chile instead. Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia and Venezuela did not participate.
The tournament was in league system ( FFA ) held. Case of a tie for first place, a playoff was provided. All matches were played at the Estadio Nacional de Chile in Santiago. Here, some games were sequentially discharged in a day as part of a doubleheader as in previous tournaments.
South American champions in football in 1955 was the tenth time in Argentina, thus the goal for his record.
