1956–57 IHL season
The season 1956/57, was the twelfth regular season of the International Hockey League. During the regular season, six teams denied each of 60 games. In the play-offs, the Cincinnati Mohawks prevailed and won the Turner Cup fifth in their history.

Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Grand Rapids Rockets have been to Huntington, West Virginia, relocated and played from then on under the name of Huntington Hornets.
- The Toledo - Marion Mercurys changed their name to Toledo Mercurys.
