1958–59 Nationalliga A season

The season 1958/59 was the 21st regular hosting of the National League A, the top Swiss league in hockey. For the first time in their history the SC Bern was Swiss champion.

Mode

Like last year, the league was held in a common main round. Each of the eight teams played in home and away leg against each group opponent, bringing the total number of matches per team was 14. The first table was swiss champion, during the last table had to compete for the league against the best second division side in the relegation. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw one point. At a loss to give any points.

Expulsion

The EHC Arosa met the best second division, last year's relegated HC La Chaux -de-Fonds, and sat down against these 4-2 through, making the EHC Arosa reached the league and the HC La Chaux -de-Fonds in the NLB remained.
