1958 Men's European Volleyball Championship
The Volleyball European Championship Men 1958 was held from 30 August to 11 September in Prague. The number of participants reached a new record with 20 teams. Germany was represented by the Federal Republic and the GDR, who met in the preliminary round. Czechoslovakia used the home advantage to defend their title.
Mode
First, a preliminary round was held, in which the twenty participants were divided into four groups of five teams. The top two teams in each group played in the final group of " all against all " for the title. The third and fourth placed teams from the preliminary round determined in a second group places nine to sixteen, and the remaining teams played the places from 17 to 20.
