1958 World Wrestling Championships

The Wrestling World Championships 1958 were held until July 27, 1958 in Budapest on 24. The wrestlers were divided into eight weight classes. In contrast to 1957 has not wrestled in free but in Greco- Roman style. The Soviet Union celebrated athletes on the podium in all eight contests. Anton Geesink, who later became world champion and Olympic gold medalist in judo, was in the -87 kg class sixth.
