The Divizia A 1959/60 was the 22nd season in the history of Romanian football league Divizia A. The season started on August 6, 1959, and ended on 19 June 1960. Between the end of October to early March, rested the game operation ( winter break ). Champion CCA Bucharest.

The Divizia A played with 12 teams. The last- placed team got down to the Divizia B. This season, rose to three teams, as the Divizia A was increased to 14 teams. For a victory, there were two points for a draw and one point for a loss no points.
