1959–60 Swedish Division I season

The season 1959/60 was the 16th season of Division 1 as the highest Swedish hockey league. Champion for the seventh time total in club history Djurgårdens IF. Nacka SK, Rönnskärs IF, Västra Frölunda IF and Karlbergs BK descended to the second division.

Mode

In the main round of the league was divided into two groups ( North and South). Each of the eight teams in each group completed a total of 14 games. The top two teams in each group qualified for the final round, in which the Master was played. The two last placed each group went directly into the second division. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
