The 80th U.S. National Championships were held from 2 to 17 September 1960 at the West Side Tennis Club in Forest Hills, New York, USA.

Defender of the single were Neale Fraser in the men's and Maria Bueno in the women. In the men's doubles were Roy Emerson and Neale Fraser, in women's doubles Jeanne Arth and Darlene Hard, the defending champion. Neale Fraser and Margaret Osborne duPont was the defending champion in mixed doubles.
