1961–62 DDR-Oberliga (ice hockey) season
The East German Ice Hockey Cup 1961/62 was held in the big leagues with eight teams and was won for the 12th time in a row by the SG Dynamo white water. The first league had the bleeding after the numerous resolutions team cope during the summer break and was filled with some unterklassigen teams. After the ASG Vorwärts Crimmitschau one of the substitutes had also signed off on the operation of gambling, started the season with only seven participants.

It is not known whether excretion between the two winners of seasons, BSG Chemie Granschütz and SC Motor Karl- Marx-Stadt was performed. The BSG Chemie Granschütz remained in the first league, the SC Motor Karl- Marx-Stadt withdrew before the start of next season. The league itself reported no new arrivals.

The descent games accounted for. As in Season 1 only three instead of four teams had gone to the start, initially was the fourth and last placed the Season 2, SC Einheit Dresden, declared the losers. After re withdrawal of numerous league teams Dresden was allowed to go in the upcoming season in the second division to the Sart.

It is not known whether excretion between the two winners of seasons, BSG activist Knappenrode - Lohsa and SG Dynamo Schierke was performed. Both teams started in the coming season again in the second league.

It is not known whether excretion between the two last placed the seasons, HSG science SMEs Leipzig and ASG Vorwärts Oberhof was performed. Both teams started in the coming season again in the second league.
Rise Games Group League 1962/63
There are no known ascent games.
The group should League from next season to replace the second league. As already practiced from 1956 to 1960, its participants have been divided into regional groups. Ultimately, increased following district division in the group league:
