1962–63 Swedish Division I season

The season 1962/63 was the 19th season of Division 1 as the highest Swedish hockey league. Master became the total tenth time in the club's history Djurgårdens IF. Almtuna, Mora IK, Morgårdshammars IF and IK Grums descended to the second division.

Mode

In the main round of the league was divided into two groups ( North and South). Each of the eight teams in each group completed a total of 14 games. The top four teams from each group qualified for the final round, in which the Master was played. The four last placed each group had to compete in a relegation round, descended the four last placed in the second division. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
