1962 European Athletics Championships

The 7th European Athletics Championships were held until September 16, 1962 in Belgrade on 12.

There were established three new world records. The Italian Salvatore Morale equaled the world record in the 400 meter hurdles and achieved a time of 49.2 s Marija Itkina from the Soviet Union equaled the world record in the 400 - meter dash ( 53.4 seconds).
