The 76th edition of the Wimbledon Championships took place in 1962 on the grounds of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Church Road instead.
For the second time after 1957, Queen Elizabeth II visited the tournament and led by the award ceremonies.
Men's Singles
Rod Laver defended his title. In the final he beat his compatriot Marty Mulligan in three sets.
Women's Singles
Karen Hantze - Susman defeated Vera in the women's final Sukova and won their only individual title at a Grand Slam tournament.
Men's doubles
In the men's doubles Bob Hewitt and Fred Stolle were successful.
Women Doubles
Billie Jean King and Karen Hantze - Susman could decide the doubles competition of the ladies for themselves. Karen Hantze
Mixed
In Mixed Margaret Osborne duPont won and Neale Fraser.
