1964–65 Nationalliga A season

The season 1964/65 was the 27th regular hosting of the National League A, the top Swiss league in hockey. For the second time in their history the SC Bern Swiss champion, while the Young Sprinters Neuchâtel descended into the NLB.

Mode

In a joint main round played each of the ten teams in return match against each group opponent, bringing the total number of matches per team was 18. The first table was Swiss champion, while the table last descent directly to the second division. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw one point. At a loss to give any points.

The SC Bern won by four points before the Master of the two previous years, the HC Villars, in the championship and lost just one of their 18 season games. The Young Sprinters Neuchâtel remained chance this season and lost 16 of 18 games, after which they dismounted with only three points as Table in the NLB.
