1964–65 Swedish Division I season

The season 1964/65 was the 21st season of Division 1 as the highest Swedish hockey league. Champion for the first time in club history Västra Frölunda IF at all. Strömsbro IF, Mora IK, IK Viking and Grums IK descended to the second division.

Mode

In the main round of the league was divided into two groups ( North and South). Each of the eight teams in each group completed a total of 14 games. The top four teams from each group qualified for the final round, in which the Master was played. The four last placed each group had to compete in a relegation round, both groups performed their own relegation round, where the results of the group participants were each taken from the main round. The two last placed each relegation round up from the second division. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
