1965–66 NHL season
The NHL 1965/66 season was the 49th season in the National Hockey League. Six teams each played 70 games. The Stanley Cup won by the Canadiens after a 4-2 victory in the final series against the Detroit Red Wings. The " Golden Jet " Bobby Hull set a new scoring record with 54 goals (including 22 on the powerplay ) and 97 points in a season. The NHL announced that six other teams would participate in the game mode from the season after next. In Buffalo and Vancouver, the disappointment was great, as these two cities were not considered.
