1965–66 Swedish Division I season

The 1965/66 season was the 22nd season of Division 1 as the highest Swedish hockey league. Master became the second overall time in club history Brynäs IF. Rönnskärs IF and Hammarby IF, Färjestad BK and Malmö FF were relegated to the second division.

Mode

In the main round of the league was divided into two groups ( North and South). Each of the eight teams in each group completed a total of 21 games. The top four teams from each group qualified for the playoffs, where the Master was played. The two last placed each group went directly into the second division. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
