1965 European Cup (athletics)

The first Athletics European Cup - A-final took place in the Federal Republic of Germany. The men were on 11 and 12 September 1965 in the Neckar Stadium in Stuttgart. A week later, the women competed on September 19, 1965 at Auestadion of Kassel. On both dates 31 disciplines ( men 20, women 11) were discharged. The team had previously must qualify preliminaries and semi - finals. It was Bruno Zauli, who had the idea in the East and West, set up a competition of all European Athletics associations. At that time no one could have guessed that this first European team competition should have decades of existence.
