1967 NHL Expansion Draft
The NHL Expansion Draft 1967 was held on June 6, 1967 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada by the National Hockey League. The draft was necessary, since the league before the season 1967/ 68 has been increased from six to twelve teams. The six new franchises were the Los Angeles Kings, Minnesota North Stars, Oakland Seals, the, the Philadelphia Flyers, the Pittsburgh Penguins and St. Louis Blues.

Since the league is now twice as many teams as previously existed, the cadres of the new teams had a total of 120 players, 20 are filled for every team, from the existing teams. That meant for each team the Original Six a loss of 20 players of what the teams with a few tricks, such as the provision of farm team players for the draft, trying to compensate. Still, it was the largest squad upheaval that has been until now performed in the NHL.
