1967 South American U-20 Championship

The Fourth Youth Football South American Championship 1967 was held until May 29, 1967 in Paraguay on May 3, 1967.

The encounters were wearing to determine the tournament winner of the event, also known as Juventud de América in Asunción. It participated in the tournament, the national teams of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Colombia, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela in part.

It was played in two groups of four (Group A) or five years (Group B) and a subsequent teams, discharged in the KO Final Phase method with two semi-finals and a final. Initially played from the two tied second place in Group A, Argentina, and Colombia, the fourth semi-finalists. Due to a 0-0 draw in this decision-making, ultimately Argentina came forth by lot. From the event Argentina emerged as the winner. Even the title was based on this drawing lots, since the final against Paraguay ended in a 2-2 draw. Second place and not be played and thus shared third place occupied the national teams from Paraguay, Peru and Brazil.
