Turkish soccer champions of the 1968/69 season was Galatasaray. It was the third championship this association.

The biggest surprise this season was Eskişehirspor as first runner-up, was not of Istanbul. The association thus qualified for the Balkan Cup.

This season, 16 teams took part, Şekerspor and Izmirspor were relegated the season.

Newcomers from the 2nd league and were İstanbulspor Izmirspor. Istanbulspor played a solid season and finished eighth. Izmirspor had to return to the second division again after just one season.
