1968 Copa Libertadores

The Copa Libertadores 1968 was the 9th edition of the most important South American football competition for club teams. 21 teams took part. It took each of the national champions of CONMEBOL countries and the second part, or the winners and finalists of the Cup competitions in Brazil and Bolivia, as there is no national championships were still held. Added to this was the winner of the previous year, Racing Club Avellaneda. The tournament began on 24 January and ended on 16 May 1968, the final decider. The Argentine representative Estudiantes de La Plata won the final against SE Palmeiras and thus won his first title in this competition.
