1969–70 Czechoslovak Extraliga season
The season 1969/70 1st League was the 27th regular hosting of the highest Hockey Class of Czechoslovakia. With 52 points from 36 games, the Army Dukla Jihlava prevailed. For the team it was their fourth in total Czechoslovak championship. The TJ Gottwaldov increased with 21 points as Table in the second game class.
Mode
As in the previous season the league was played with ten teams. Since each team fought out against each group opponent each two home and away games, the total number of matches per team was 36 games. Champion was the winner of the Main Round. The-table rose directly into the respective national championship.

Best scorer of the league was Josef Černý of ZKL Brno, who scored 32 goals in the 36 games of his team.

The winners of the three second division groups, motor České Budějovice, BANIK CSA Karviná and LVS Poprad, and the best runners-up spot Dukla Pisek played in home and away leg for admission to the first league for the following season. Here, České Budějovice sat by eleven points.
