1969 NHL Amateur Draft

The NHL Amateur Draft in 1969, the annual talent contraction of the National Hockey League, took place on 12 June 1969 at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal, Canada in the province of Quebec instead.

A total of 84 players were drawn in ten rounds. The Draft can probably be referred to most likely be the first draft, the equivalent of today's talent drawing, as previously no more than 24 players were selected. It has also been selected with the Finn Tommi Salmelainen first time a European. Not the first draft picks, but two players, the Philadelphia Flyers had secured, ensured in the following years for attention. Bobby Clarke and Dave Schultz were pillars of the team that could repeat the Stanley Cup win.
