1970–71 Nationalliga A season
The 1970/71 season was the 33rd regular hosting of the National League A, the top Swiss league in hockey. For the fourth time in their history the HC La Chaux -de-Fonds Swiss champion, while the Zürcher SC descent into NLB.
Mode
In a joint main round played each of the eight teams in return match against each group opponent, bringing the total number of matches per team was 14. The five top-ranked teams qualified for the final round, in which the Master was played. The three last player played in the Relegation to avoid relegation. According to their placement in the main round, the teams were given in the second season phase bonus points. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw one point. At a loss to give any points.
