1970 NFL season

The NFL 1970 season was the 51th season of American Football in the National Football League ( NFL). The regular season began on September 18, 1970 and ended on 20 December 1970. The season ended with the Pro Bowl on January 24, 1971 at the LA Coliseum in Los Angeles, California.

It was the first NFL season after the merger of the American Football League ( AFL) and National Football League ( NFL). Due to the numerical difference in weight in the number of teams, 16 NFL teams and 10 AFL teams exchanged three NFL teams ( the Baltimore Colts, the Cleveland Browns and the Pittsburgh Steelers ) by the NFL in the newly created American Football Conference ( AFC ), so that these, like the National Football Conference ( NFC), and from 13 teams consisted. The Conferences were divided into three divisions, East, Central and West. The two East divisions each consisting of five teams each, the other of four teams each.

Super Bowl V

The 5th Super Bowl was played on January 17, 1971 at Miami Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida. In the final, the Baltimore Colts met the Dallas Cowboys, the Baltimore Colts won their first Super Bowl.
