1971–72 Norwegian 1. Divisjon season
The 1971/72 season was the 33rd season of the first divisjon, the highest Norwegian ice hockey league. Champion for the first time in club history at all Hasle- Løren Idrettslag. Furuset IF descended to the second division.

Mode
In the main round each of the eight teams completed a total of 14 games. The top four teams qualified for the final round, the First Place Champion. The remaining four teams had to play in the relegation round, which finished last relegation to the second division. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
