1971 Men's Hockey World Cup

The first Hockey World Championship for Men was held from 15 to 24 October 1971 in Barcelona. The tournament was hosted by the World Hockey Association FIH. Originally, the World Cup to take place in the Pakistani city of Lahore. But safety aspects were decisive for the choice of the Catalan capital as the venue of the championships.

All 30 games were played in the sports complex of the Real Club de Polo.
