1972–73 NHL season
The NHL 1972/73 season was the 56th season in the National Hockey League. 16 teams each played 78 games. The Stanley Cup won by the Canadiens after a 4-2 victory in the final series against the Chicago Blackhawks. After some NHL stars like Bobby Hull, Gerry Cheevers, Bernie Parent and Derek Sanderson joined the new league, silent laughter. Before the season, there had been a memorable eight games lasting series between Canada and the USSR. Although Bobby Orr was missing through injury and looking at the players that were changed in the WHA had ruled, Canada decided the series for themselves.
