1972 African Cup of Nations qualification

A total of 26 teams entered to participate in the African Cup of 1972 in Cameroon.

The qualification went through two knockout rounds. Upper Volta did not occur to the qualification. Cameroon hosts and defending champions Sudan were exempted from the qualifying matches.
