1973–74 Swedish Division I season

The 1973/74 season was the 30th season of Division 1 as the highest Swedish hockey league. Champion for the third time in club history Leksand IF. IF Tunabro and Kiruna AIF descended to the second division.

Mode

In the main round of the league was divided into two groups ( North and South). Each of the eight teams in each group completed a total of 14 games. The top four teams from each group qualified for the final round, in which the Master was played. The four last placed each group had to compete in a relegation round, descended the two last placed directly into the second division. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
