1973 OFC Nations Cup

The football Ozeanienmeisterschaft 1973 ( engl.: OFC Nations Cup ) was the first playout of an oceanic continental championship in football and was held from 17 to 24 February 1973 in New Zealand instead. All matches were played in Auckland Park in Newmarket. At the tournament Fiji, New Caledonia, New Zealand, New Hebrides took (now Vanuatu), Tahiti part. Has been played in league system in a simple round FFA. The two group best qualified for the finals, the third and fourth for the third-place match.

At this time the continental federation OFC was not yet a member of the World Football Association FIFA.
