1974–75 AHL season
The season 1974/75 was the 39th regular season of the American Hockey League ( AHL ). During the regular season, the ten teams in the league should each 76 games contest, but the Baltimore Clippers moved for financial reasons their team prematurely from playing back, so the game plan had to be changed. The eight best teams in the AHL then played in a play-off round to the Calder Cup.

Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Boston Braves stopped the play mode
- The Jacksonville Barons stopped the game operation
- The Cincinnati Swords stopped the game operation
- The Syracuse Eagles were added as an expansion team in the league
- The Springfield Kings changed their name back to Springfield Indians

For the play-offs, the eight best teams in the American Hockey League qualified. In the first two play-off rounds, the winner of each division were played, which first played the second against the third and then the winner of this duel in round two against the winners of the regular season.
