1974–75 DDR-Oberliga (ice hockey) season

In the GDR 's Ice Hockey Championship 1974/75 instead of the previous six eight games between the two clubs from Dynamo white water and Berlin were recognized in the big leagues. After the capital city held the lead throughout the tournament, white water came with a convincing home win on the final day but still defend the title.

Due to the large partial performance gap between the follow-up teams of the former Oberliga Berlin, Crimmitschau, Erfurt and Rostock and the other BSG- teams the best determination was divided into two performance groups of 4 participants. The group assignment resulted from the placement of the preseason, with then the A-Group last, and the B- group winners had to contest a Relegation. Another relegation was introduced between the B group last and the winner of the elimination of the district champion, because now the number of new registrations exceeded the available grid positions far.
