1974–75 European Cup Winners' Cup
The European Cup Winners 'Cup 1974/75 was the 15th playout of the competition of European Football Cup Winners' Cup. It was attended part 32 club teams from 32 countries, including 22 domestic cup winners and 10 losing Cup Finalists (Dundee United, Benfica, AS Monaco FC Avenir Beggen, Red Star Belgrade, Enosis Neon Paralimni FC, Slavia Prague, Gwardia Warsaw, Dynamo Kiev and Bursaspor ). Last year's winner 1 FC Magdeburg had qualified GDR Champion for the European Cup of Champions 1974/75 and therefore could not defend his title. Albania reported as last year again, no team. From Germany were DFB-Pokal winner Eintracht Frankfurt, from the GDR fdgb Cup winners FC Carl Zeiss Jena, Austria from the OFB - Winners' Cup FK Austria Wien and FC Sion from Switzerland at the start.
In the first pure final two teams from the Eastern bloc Dynamo Kiev could win a first European Cup for the Soviet Union.
Scorer was the Dutchman Willy van der Kuylen from PSV Eindhoven with a total of eight goals.
Mode
The participants played as usual in pure Cup mode with return games the winner. Was there after two games Torgleichstand, the number of away goals scored decided ( away goals ). Was also equal in number to an extension took place in the return game in which was also the away goals rule. Ruled by the end of the extension is still a tie, a penalty shoot-out was performed. The final was decided on one game at a neutral venue. If the score is level after extra time the winner would also have been determined in a penalty shootout.
