First Placement Round was played, with the losers of the games were drawn on March 16 in a preliminary round group with hosts and defending champions Kuwait. The winners of these games as well as the United Arab Emirates as the loser of the match against Kuwait in Group B were allocated. Then, the first Group A played against the second of the group B and vice versa in the knockout system.
