1974 Major League Baseball Draft
The MLB Draft 1974 was the tenth draft, which was organized by Major League Baseball. In the first place, Bill Almon was selected by the San Diego Padres.
Background
In contrast to the other Drafts twelve of the 13 first and 16 succeeded in MLB Draft 1974 in the first round of selected players then made it into the Major League Baseball. Among the best known and most successful players who were drafted, including Lonnie Smith (Philadelphia Phillies ), Dale Murphy (Atlanta Braves ), Garry Templeton (St. Louis Cardinals), Lance Parrish (Detroit Tigers ), Willie Wilson (Kansas City Royals ) and Rick Sutcliffe (Los Angeles Dodgers ).
