1974 Norwegian First Division

The first Divisjon 1974 was the 30th season of Norway's highest football league and the twelfth season under the name 1 Divisjon. The season began on April 28, 1974 and ended on 13 October 1974.

Mode

The twelve teams played in a single round with round-trip game against each other so that each team completed 22 games. Master was the Leading after the last matchday. The last three teams had to dismount.

Season

Viking Stavanger became the third consecutive Norwegian champion. It was the fourth overall title for this team.

The season was balanced. No team was able to settle properly. Only Molde FK had a time three -point lead. Otherwise, it remained at more than two points. Still three games before the end of the season five teams had the chance of becoming champions. Finally was able to prevail again Viking.

Of the climbers Molde FK, Sarpsborg FK and IF Vålerengens only Sarpsborg FK had to descend again.
