1974 World Wrestling Championships

The Wrestling World Championships 1974 found by style separately in different locations. The wrestlers were divided into ten weight classes.

Greco-Roman

The competitions in the Greco-Roman style were held until October 13, 1974 in Katowice on 10. The Soviet Union celebrated athletes on the podium in all 10 contests. Best German was Hans -Jürgen Veil in the weight category -57 kg and Lorenz Hecher in the weight class 100 kg, which finished fourth rank.

Freestyle

The competitions were held in free style until September 1, 1974 in Istanbul from August 29. The wrestlers from the Soviet Union secured in nine of the ten competitions medals. Only Batal Gadschijew -62 kg could come up with a fifth place in the weight class not place on the medals. Best German wrestlers were the two fourth-placed Eduard Giray in the weight category -62 kg and Adolf Seger in the weight category -74 kg. In addition, Heinz Eichelbaum came in fifth in the weight class 100 kg still in the top six.
