1975–76 Elitserien season
The Elitserien - 1975/76 season was the first season of the Swedish Elitserien. The preliminary round was played on October 5, 1975 to February 26, 1976. Swedish Champion was Brynäs IF while Djurgårdens IF and IK Timrå descended to the second division.

The ten teams in the Elitserien first played in 36 regular season games against each other. While the first four teams qualified for the play- offs, rose the two last placed into the Division I. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
